Check out these tips on how you can start making a difference every day!

  • Bike or run to work

  • Bike to your group and track runs

  • Start your runs from your home or office

  • Carpool or take public transit to get to and from events

  • Race in your hometown as much as possible

  • Mix your drinks using powdered sports drink mixes

  • Carry your own water in a container to reduce race cup waste production

  • Use reusable bottles instead of throwaway plastic water bottles.

  • Buy apparel made of natural and renewable resource

  • Rething your purchasing decisions, and wear your existing apparel as long as you can

  • Volunteer to clean up a local trail you like to run or bike on

  • Organize a recycling initiative at a local race where participants can bring old equipment and apparel

  • Use efficient and concentrated forms of laundry detergents

  • Wash your apparel in cold water and hang dry

  • Run outside whenever you can (rather than inside on a treadmill)

  • For new equipment, such as hiking boots or a set of weights, purchase gently used equipment rather than new gear

  • Wear your old running shoes casually after they lack cushioning for a long run

  • Donate your old shoes to outfits that give shoes to needy people
